In this wonderful season of gratitude and thanksgiving my friend, L, wrote on facebook "I'm kinda disappointed no one is making an ungrateful list this month. Is it the cynic in me or am I just looking for balance?" so in an attempt to keep the order and balance of the universe (or to just satisfy any cynics out there) here is my very own Ungrateful List.
when my children don't listen
zits (come on! I am 31 and I should not still have the skin of a 15-year-old)
my flabby midsection
cavities and root canals and how expensive they are to fix
all the nasty back and forth about the election on facebook
when my children whine
a tiny house that we can't sell because we still owe more than it's worth
student loan debt
messes
the high cost of insurance coverage for a family
when my cat throws up (so gross)
Anything you want to add?

I hear you on the zits!!! I've had success with something I found on Pinterest (go fig, something on Pinterest that actually works out how you hope): a solution of diluted apple cider vinegar. I think it's three parts water, one part ACV. I even use it on Alayna's face--her pre-tween skin (esp. her nose) is already breaking out! She's certainly my child in that regard.
Today I'm not grateful that Kristen got up twice last night and Maren even got up once, too. So all three of us are grumpy. Joy! (But I'm grateful this doesn't happen every night.)
Seeds. Stuck in my teeth. Urgh. (But I'm grateful for the smoothie that has the seeds in it.)
My hubby works two jobs but there just never seems to be enough for everything. (But my hubby has two jobs, which is way better than what a lot of people are facing.)
I think I'll stop now before I get hit by lightning. :)
Okay, forget the lightning, I am really ungrateful for friends' Facebook world-traveling pictures.
Amy, I will definitely be trying that home remedy. Glad I'm not the only one. I am grateful you're my friend. I am not grateful that you live in faraway Kuna :)
Amen to all of that! Especially the zits. I think I have like 20 right now!
I am super extra ungrateful for miscarriages right now. So I totally see where your friend is coming from wanting to be cynical.
I am ungrateful for people who cause more work for others. This week I have had to pick up the slack and I really don't want to do it.
Also disliking bathroom mold. I need stock in Tilex and I wish the contractor (who didn't install a bathroom fan) ill health. He was also very silly to carpet my dining room.
Dislike 3 loads of laundry PER DAY. I do love my big family but the laundry is a buzzkill.
I feel your pain on the selectively deaf children, pimples (I started using Proactiv, it's expensive, but it's working), dental work, the awful election, and insurance costs!
