A few weeks ago I stopped giving Marcus cheese tortillas because they always seemed to end up on the floor. I thought this was strange because just a few weeks prior to that, he'd loved cheese tortillas. Anyway, I was out of bread one afternoon, so I thought I'd try his one-time favorite dish, but this time I thought to myself, "How would I like my cheese tortilla?" Of course my immediate response to myself was, "WITH SALSA--LOT'S OF IT!" So, I followed my gut, tried it, and Marcus was pleased to say the least (he actually licked the plate--I'm not kidding). Is it really any surprise then that last night when he wouldn't eat his chicken nuggets and green beans that I thought to myself, "Salsa?"
He cleared his plate in seconds flat and licked it clean.

Cute, funny boy! I haven't tried salsa but dipping sauces (ketchup, ranch, cottage cheese) are wildy successful at our house too. Here we go, toddlerhood!
Salsa, ketchup and balsamic vinegar have been our life savers at mealtimes the past two years. We always have to be real quick about wiping her face off with the salsa and vinegar, otherwise she gets a rash.
Will doesn't like salsa yet. He always thinks he will until it is in his mouth and then he freaks out about his mouth being too hot. I am a mean mom that lets him do it because I think it's pretty funny...He does like ranch and ketchup though. I'm so glad they were invented. It must have been a mom that invented them so that her kids would eat food.
I'm so glad that I now have a list of toppings for when the salsa goes out of fashion (which it undoubtedly will).
Ketchup
ranch
cottage cheese
balsamic vinegar
Thanks!!
