This is the longest I have ever been pregnant. Marcus came at 38 weeks and the twins at 37. This little guy will be 39 weeks tomorrow. At my last appt. I had finally shown some "progression" and so we talked about induction dates and settled on Monday, Feb 6. As in THIS Monday. Exciting! My lovely mom and sister and niece will be coming up this weekend and will stay until the following weekend and my excitement over this baby is only slightly more than my excitement over getting these women all to myself for such a stretch of time. Will the house be chaotic? Probably. But it will be a very happy chaotic.
So many of you commented on how small I looked in the maternity shots my friend, Kim, took of me. I no longer look so small as you can see from the picture above. However, I do not look like a beached whale as I did with the twins. In fact, I've gained pretty much the same amount of weight as I did with Marcus which is about 10 lbs less than what I gained with the twins. I have certainly enjoyed my pregnancy as far as food goes if you know what I mean :) The weight can come off later, now is the time to REVEL in all things delicious.
In that vein, I have not spent this extra time being pregnant in a state of blah, rather, I have spent much of it finding yummy things on Pinterest and then cooking/baking said yummy things. We've actually been baking so much that my kids now believe that making Chocolate Chip cookies on Sunday is pretty much a fact of life. We've been searching for the elusive perfect Chocolate Chip cookie recipe (do you have one? feel free to share). Last Monday night I combined dinner and our family night treat when I made Cinnamon Roll Waffles. Holy crap, those were good.
Everyone I know who was due around the same time as me (that makes 3 other women) have had their babies (all boys, too) and I am ready to join their club, but I am truly grateful for these last few days of pregnancy when I can really enjoy my 3 boys and the amazing feeling of a baby kicking around inside me.
And perhaps another batch or two of Chocolate Chip cookies.

Congratulations! 2/6/2012 sounds like a great birth date to me. I also just found this incredible, non traditional chocolate chip cookie recipe that makes them taste like a crunch toffee bar. I can send it if you're interested. My family inhaled them.
I was thinking about you and noticing that I hadn't heard any news!!!! Too bad. But not too bad either. 39 weeks ain't too bad either! I always add 10 date onto my due date because it always happens to me. But I do have a great cc recipe for you. The neiman marcus one. DELISH and the best ever. It takes a bit more work, but it is worth it. Google it. Pinterest it. You will love it! And YAY for you that you get to be surrounded by loads of motherly help. Every woman should have that. Congrats on MOnday! My sister is having her baby that day too! WAHOO!!!!
I'm just so excited for you!! You look so good, fun to see a picture!
Jen, do you really need to ask if you should send me that recipe?
Kara, I am on it.
Mary, thanks!
Pre-congratulations!!!! That's exciting news. And have you tried the cc cookies where you add Jell-o pudding mix instead of some of the sugar? Favorite. Cookies. Ever. They stay soft forever (I'm not a fan of flat, crunchy ccc's). Email me beck8701@hotmail if you want it. Enjoy your last weekend preggers!!!
