A new love

I don't know why it took me so long to jump on the pinterest bandwagon, but I am a full fledged lover of it now. I only joined a few days ago and I was looking at it and telling Tim all about the lovely things I was seeing and he asked, "So what is it exactly?" and I said something like, "Well, it's like my Better Homes and Gardens magazine subscription (which I also love) only on steroids--it's awesome!" One of the first things I saw was this cute heart banner (that just so happens to come from the BHG website--go figure) and it brought about my first pinterest inspired creation.

Isn't it pretty? Theirs is actually made of leftover fabric scraps, but I'm not a big sewer and therefore have no leftover scraps of any kind so I improvised a bit . . .

and used some of the scrapbook paper I already had. Ta-dah! My free pinterest inspired Valentine's Day heart banner. I'm really happy with how free and easy and pretty it turned out :)

This is what is sitting on the table under the banner. I made this little Valentine craft a few years ago with my cousin. I just thought I'd share in case anyone else is a scrabble fan looking for a creative Valentine's decor idea.

Here's to the pretty!!

Loooooooooooooove Pinterest! There's a hanging book holder pocket thingy I'm scheming to make for Alayna's room, because she loves to read (like her mother) and she doesn't have a book shelf, but she stays up every night with a flashlight reading in bed.
