Bowling

Is it just me or can the day after Christmas sometimes feel a little depressing? All the presents have been opened and it's the longest time of year until next Christmas. To combat this, we've been trying (hit and miss) to establish a family tradition of going bowling the day after Christmas. This year we had some free game coupons for the kids and we thought we'd try going the morning of the 26th. The place was pretty empty and this allowed our boys (read: Owen) to run wild without the stress. It was the first time we'd taken the babies bowling and they looked hilarious in their little bowling shoes.

Marcus is our seasoned bowler. We were going to do two games but Owen and Eli don't have attention spans that last that long so on Dec 27th, Tim and Marcus went back for some more bowling fun. Both played much better on the second day. I won't tell you what Tim's score was on the day we all went because he would be too embarrassed. Day 2 had 3 strikes in a row!

This guy loved lugging around his 4 lb bowling ball.

We used the dragon slide for the babies or we would have been there all day. Owen would roll his ball and then hold this pose (arms up) until the ball hit the pins.

Poor Eli, the only 3 lb ball they had was pink. Luckily, he is pretty secure in his manhood :) Also, Tim dressed them and little Eli managed to show up in a shirt that was too small even for him! As soon as we got home, I went through their clothes and got rid of the too-small stuff. Owen is actually wearing 4t now and Eli wears 3t shirts but can wear 4t pants. So yep, the boys now have separate shirt drawers and they don't look so white trash anymore because their clothes actually fit.

Tim kept up his own personal tradition of the "Christmas mustache" so he fit right in at our bowling alley :) Hooray for bowling and after Christmas fun!

So fun! Have you guys tried the babies out on the Wii bowling yet? I bet that would be fun to see. :)

How fun! We went bowling that day too. haylie thought the ball slide was her own personal acrobatic equipment. Maybe if it had been a cool dinosaur i wouldn't have been so worried about stitches.
