Marcus is home from school for Winter Break. This means 2 whole weeks! I have mixed feelings about this because I am 32 weeks pregnant now and feeling larger and more tired. I don't sleep as well anymore and the lack of sleep often makes me feel sluggish and snappy. It doesn't make me the most patient and adoring mother, either. I've been thinking about some of the happy and fun things we can do during this time together so that it can still be a happy season for my boys and I've come up with a few ideas for things we can do:
Make candy houses
make Christmas cookies (sugar cookies)
go bowling with the free coupons are neighbor gave us in lieu of candy on Halloween
visit the Capital building--it is beautifully decorated right now
play dates with cousins and friends
library visits
dollar movie on Tuesday
any other inexpensive and low key ideas?
I've also asked Tim to take a day or two off of work the week after Christmas so we can have a little more time together as a family. He'll work a half day on Friday and then we'll have Christmas weekend and Monday and Tuesday together. I am looking forward to that. It'll be nice to have him around.

have a night where the kids get their pajamas on really early (right after dinner or even before) and then pop popcorn and watch a Christmas movie until bedtime. I know TV isn't the best thing before bed, but I figure every now and then won't kill them
The flip side to that is do it in the morning one day right after breakfast so you can go back to bed or lie on the couch for a little longer.
popcorn art. (popcorn is white and cheap and exciting so we use it a lot in emergency situations) You could let them make snowflakes or something with the popcorn by dipping it in glue
Drive around and look at Christmas lights a lot.
Turn on pandora to a christmasy station and let the kids have a christmas dance party (this one doesn't last very long and can get a little insane fast)
use masking tape to make a road for the cars around the house (I saw this on pinterest and baby Hudson loves it and it entertains the boys for a long time)
Have the kids play the quiet game and never end it. Tell them to go hide and you'll find them later.
Thanks for letting us have the boys for a sleepover and enjoying Christams Eve with you...Great fun!
