November

My November boys. Tim turned 33 and Owen and Eli turned 3.

Auntie Kay (and Grandma?) gave the boys some adorable new outfits. They sported these on their first Sunday as big 3-year-olds. Could they look any different? It's hard to believe that they are twins. Owen has the size and the strength and Eli has the curls and the gift of speech :) They continue to be the very best of friends (who still manage to bicker and tease occasionally--okay, frequently).

Thanksgiving was spent with my mom and my siblings in Utah this year. My sister-in-law, Nicole, and I prepared the delicious feast and I think it turned out quite well. I discovered that the biggest challenge to Thanksgiving dinner is making sure that everything is hot at the same time. Crock-pots certainly came in handy for that this year--we used two. We also served the smoked turkey that Tim receives from work each holiday season. It is fully cooked and just needs to be warmed up in the oven for about 2 hours. Nice! We also enjoyed the gold flecked ham that Kevin and Nicole brought--I won't tell you how much it cost--holy crap! But it was certainly delicious even to me, who isn't really a huge ham person. I definitely found a stellar sweet potatoes recipe. My grandpa said it was his favorite part of the meal. Oh, and my sister spent the time to make Grandma Tew's tarts. Yummy. Things I would change for next time: make more mashed potatoes--rather than doubling the recipe, I would triple or quadruple it.

The babies turned 3 while we were in Utah and we took them to Chuck E. Cheese where we met up with our families. I got the idea to make them a two-headed monster cake from a friend of mine who also has twin boys and can truly agree that twin boys often remind us of a two-headed monster :) They boys really liked the cake and took no offense at my insinuation :)

On Saturday night, we insanely went to see the Temple Square lights with my dad, Rhonda, and my siblings. We rode Traks which the boys totally loved (see Eli's face?) but the crowds at Temple Square were crazy! It was the only night we could see them, though, so I'm still really glad we went and that my family loved us enough to come, too.

Beautiful.

It looks like you guys had a great time in Utah. I can't believe the twins turned three, crazy! They look so handsome in their new cute outfits and so grown up. I'm blogging again and realized I never had you on my blog list, just added you and am excited to read your posts more regularly. Have a great weekend!

Happy b-day to my 3 big, very handsome boys! Love the cake. Glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving--I am very impressed with your dinner accomplishments. I love seeing the lights @ Temple Square--haven't been for a while but hopefully in a year or two we can get down there again to see them.
