Family Christmas Letter

Each year my mom's side of the family has a big Christmas party. We stopped doing a gift exchange a few years ago and now each family makes enough copies of a picture/letter page so that everyone in the family can go home with one. I keep mine in a scrapbook and it is fun to look back and see how much people have grown and changed over the years. I'm not doing a Christmas card this year because I'm simplifying my Christmas because of my "condition," so I thought I would share this year's Richey Family page with you.

The Richey Family has been heard to say, "It was almost like Heaven back in 2011!" Here are 10 reasons why:

1. Awesome family vacation to Lund, Nevada where we enjoyed playing with our friends on their cattle ranch.

2. We found out that we’re having another baby! We are keeping to what we’re good at: Boys. This fellow is due Feb 8, 2012, and Katie is thrilled there is only one this time!

3. Marcus started First Grade. This means he’s at school all day—wow! He is still the Math King but is also showing major skills as the Reading King, too.

4. The babies are 3! Does this mean we should stop calling them “the babies?”

5. Because Tim wasn’t already busy enough, he started teaching an online accounting class for American Intercontinental University. He now only answers to Professor Richey and Your Excellency.

6. . Katie got to meet Markus Zusak, the author of The Book Thief. So awesome!

7. We got rid of our beater truck and somehow managed to acquire another one—ain’t life grand?

8. Katie and Nicole cooked their first Thanksgiving dinner together and it was awesome. Ask Grandpa about the sweet potatoes, go on, just ask.

9. We said farewell to Grandma. We really miss her, but are so grateful for our knowledge that families can be together forever.

10. We each had a sister get married. The boys are excited to welcome Uncle Justin and Uncle Romeo to the family, and Tim and Katie are thrilled to see their sisters so happy.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
