Christmas cookies

Yesterday, we decided to make and decorate Christmas cookies. These cookies were/are intended for the use of my family and my family only (though I did later give away some of the ones that I had decorated). Can you see why I might want to keep these cookies in my house? They got a little exciting to say the least and there may have been a lot of "Get that out of your mouth!" Yummy. Here are some especially awesome ones:

The frosted star. Marcus got a little into the idea of really layering on the frosting extra thick.

I'm not sure what happened here. A snowman with a dirty face? The marshmallow puffed sleeves are an obvious reference to Anne of Green Gables (my children are so smart.)

I think this was one of Eli's creations. His method was more about layering on as many different kinds of toppings as would fit into one gigantic pile on his cookies. He especially favored marshmallows and chocolate chips because the red hots were "too spicy."

Another Marcus creation. Just lovely. If you look in the upper left corner of this picture you can see one of Owen's cookies. His were all marked by a lovely tongue path where he had licked it to make sure it was delicious enough. That's our thoughtful Owen.

I know the people we gave some of these cookies to read this blog and I just want to assure them again that the ones I gave them were properly quarantined. I promise.

To the rest of you, feel free to come over and sample our tasty creations! (at your own risk of course).

I remember making Christmas sugar cookies with my kids...I wanted to make some this year, but my baby daughter, KayLyn, didn't want to. Is it because she is now 25? Yours look yummy and very cute!
