Last week was Parent/Teacher Conferences and it went well. My favorite thing Miss LaRue gave us was a journal that Marcus has been keeping at school. She gives the kids a prompt and then they go on to write and draw a picture to illustrate their ideas. There was lots of good stuff in there, but my favorite was this page about friends. Look who Marcus drew in there for his friend. Me. It's nice to know that he thinks of me as a friend who is "nise."
Sometimes being a mom is hard, frustrating work. It's nice to have these little reminders that it is also really good and important work.

You are a wonderful mother...and your children do love you very much. And we love you and appreciate the wonderful job you and Tim are doing raising your children (our grandchildren). Great art work, Marcus!
