A very good week

I got back from a wonderful vacation on Saturday. It started last Friday when my lovely sister-in-law, Alecia, got married in the Mount Timpanogos Temple in Utah. She was so beautiful and it was a really special ceremony. We are so happy for her. Her husband, Romeo, is from Madagascar, but has lived in the United States for about 8 years. He was married once before so not only does Alecia now have a handsome husband, but she has a six-year-old son! Romeo is serving in the National Guard and is going to Iraq for a year. He left the Monday following their Friday wedding. I had worried the wedding might feel bittersweet because of this soon-to-be long separation, but it was only happy and beautiful. I wish them all the best.

And then on Sunday I turned 30!!!! We celebrated with my siblings and mom on Saturday. I requested a scone party and my birthday wish was granted. It was really nice to visit with everyone and be near them for this big event. I love my family.

And then we headed to Lund, Nevada to visit my old roommate, Aubrey Carter, and her family on their ranch. I took a TON of pictures, so that post will come later. If you can't wait, though, I did post a bunch of them on facebook--they just won't have my witty dialogue :)

I'm doing a bunch of blog catch-up and just saw this. Koby knows Romeo from his mission to Madagascar. Crazy small world! How neat too!
