Easter Tree

I have always wanted a hall table that could be my "Holiday Table." When we were in Utah a few weeks ago, we visited IKEA (why can't you be in Boise, IKEA? Why?) and we bought this buffet that could double as my "Holiday Table" and as a place to put food and plates when we have guests over--Tim couldn't really get on board with the "Holiday Table" idea but he was more okay with the "extra table to put more food and other delicious things on" table :) So far we have used it for both purposes and have been pleased. As Easter is this month, Marcus and I made this lovely Easter Tree. I found the ornaments for 50% off and the branches from my yard, and I already had the vase. FYI: In Germany and Austria it's customary to celebrate Easter by hanging hollow eggs from the branches of trees. Hooray for being cute and cultural at the same time!

Every tree needs a nest of cute baby birds. Marcus made this in preschool last year and it was one of the few crafts I chose to keep because it is adorable.

This is our outside Easter Tree and we didn't even have to decorate it--spring managed that one all on her own! I have always loved the vibrant yellow blooms of forsythia, so a few years ago we planted one in our front yard and now it is going strong. It makes me happy every time I look at it. All the daffodils are back, too. Our yard is yellow, yellow, yellow. Tim thinks maybe too much yellow. Really? Can there be such a thing as too much yellow? Either way, this fall I plan to plant some tulip bulbs in various colors that will shake things up a bit :) Happy Spring, everyone!

I like it because it's fun to say, forsythia!

So cool! I love the tree idea. And I'm jealous of your green grass and yellowness. We're still covered in inches of snow up here.
