I am giving the talk next week! (Aug 16)

Were we excited? Yes, we were. Tim actually came up with the little temple talk and we practiced it every night before Marcus went to bed. Here he is saying it on Saturday, the day before the big event.About: temples
(parents are welcome to help or watch)
On Sunday morning, we dressed him in his cute little church clothes and we practiced one more time. When Primary time came, we went with Marcus and we sat in the back. I planned to go up with him to prompt him just as we'd practiced. Well, can you guess what happened? Marcus got up there, took one look at the group of kids and adults staring back at him and froze. I gently encouraged him to say something, anything, but he remained silent. So, I gave the talk while he held the pictures. Oh, well. Eventually, he'll feel comfortable enough to give his own talk. Later, Tim and I were talking about it and we came to the conclusion that the main thing is that he spent the week talking about temples. In fact, on Sunday evening when we were getting ready for bed, Marcus wanted to practice his talk again. Good job, Marcus. We're so proud of you.

So cute. The same thing happened to us with Heidi's first talk. She was totally pumped, we practiced hard, and then she froze after the first sentence.
