Filler post

We spent the weekend in McCall with Tim's family and it was really really nice. We hadn't been on a vacation since last year's trip to Yellowstone, and it was fun to share the twins' first vacation with Grandma and Grandpa and Auntie Kay. Unfortunately, dumb blogger isn't in the mood to upload my pictures so that will have to wait until another day. However, I don't want to waste this moment I've found to write a post, so I thought I'd share 5 random thoughts/experiences/deep dark secrets as a sort of filler post until I can bring on the adorable pics of the babes enjoying their first dip in the swimming pool. Precious.

1. Tim is in South Dakota this week for audit training. He says he misses us and I'm sure he does but I also think he is having a really fabulous time. Here is why I think this: he has cable which means Sports Center and all the other ESPN shows, he gets to eat out at yummy restaurants and the firm pays for it (why yes, I think I will have dessert!), and some other audit guy brought his game system which means Halo competitions.

2. My 10 year high school reunion is this month (go Vikings!). First, holy crap I can't believe I've been out of high school for 10 years. Second, I'm planning to go--I hope this doesn't make me a nerd.

3. My really good friend is pregnant!!! It's a secret, so don't tell anyone.

4. We have yummy strawberries in our garden this year. The raspberries should be ready in another few weeks. I love fresh fruits and veggies from the garden. This year we planted various tomatoes, jalapenos, basil, oregano (perennial, so it came back), cilantro, peas, rhubarb, and pumpkin. We planted the strawberries last year and got one--so we are really excited about this year's harvest. Maybe next year we'll finally have enough to make jam.

5. One of my favorite things is when Owen and Eli wake up and they first see me peek over the side of their cribs. They smile so big and their eyes get all bright. They kick their little legs and wave their little arms and oh my gosh it just melts my heart and makes any of the hard or frustrating times sooo worth it.

It sounds like you are really enjoying life! It's amazing how the Lord puts those little things in to our lives to make up for all of the tough things. We'll be moving there soon so we hope to see you!

I love it when babies do the full body smile.
Way to go with your garden, I'm so proud!

I don't think wanting to go to your reunion makes you a nerd. I have mine this year too and wish I could go but can't being so prego. Good luck with yours and have fun.

I agree about the feelings that wash over you when babies get really excited to see you. That's what my little Ella does, and I absolutely LOVE it. She even does it when I go around a corner and come right back. So funny, and so awesome.
