We had stake conference today and it was really nice and would have been even nicer if I hadn't been worrying about one little piece of my wardrobe--my thigh highs. Ughhh. Yes, with the cooler weather, I have had to give up going to church with just my bare legs, and there is NO way that I am going to wear regular pantyhose that press on my belly and leave the twins feeling very angry towards me (think lots of kicking and shoving). I also only have one skirt left that I can actually wear and feel comfortable in and knee highs would have been too short--thigh highs seemed the only answer.
I bought two pair on Friday night and did not touch them until this morning when I was getting ready for church. That was a mistake. Within minutes, the one on my right leg was down around my knees. So, I put on the other pair and it seemed to hold up okay . . . until we actually got to church when it too began to slip and puddle around my knees. Embarassing!! I made Tim walk right behind me until I could find a bathroom wherein I could adjust the stupid thing. It never got any better and I'm just really glad that we had 2 hours of sitting instead of 3 hours of 3 different meetings which would have meant more walking, more puddling, and more mad dashes to the bathroom for adjustment. I think I am now in the market for maternity nylons. Anybody know where I can find a reasonably priced pair of those? Oh, and don't suggest taping my thigh highs to my legs to prevent slippage. We tried that.

I always bought just one pair of maternity tights (at Motherhood Maternity) and used the life out of them by wearing them until they could not possibly be worn again. And I'll say this: they are actually pretty comfy, since they just wrap over your belly and don't try to attack it with tight elastic. Totally worth the money.
I don't think I've ever found a pair of thigh highs that stayed up like they should. Tights should just be outlawed altogether. If guys only knew what it was like...
I don't remember having the choice of no nylons or thigh-highs when I was pregnant. (Remember I had babies in the "dark ages") I just had to wear my nylons with the elastic under my tummy. Which was uncomfortable because it felt like they were always falling down because I couldn't feel them on my tummy. Just remember, "this too shall pass".
I have had that same thing happen to me! I tried wearing thigh highs when I was pregnant with Kara, and you are right...they do not stay up. I've never bought maternity nylons, but I'm definitely going to next time around.
Sorry, that petunia post is from me..I didn't realize my sister was still logged in on my computer.
It's so funny to hear these kind of stories when it's not me.
Tag, You're it.
Hello, hey I look at your blog all the time and just have never commented. This made me laugh. I am going to pop myself with in the next 3 weeks so I understand the problem. This sunday with the snow I had a problem too. I felt like I was getting cut in half with the nylons under my belly. I've never tried them, you think I would have by my 5th baby, but Queen size nylons are what my sister uses. Shoes are a fun one too. I had to switch shoes before we left for church. I couldn't feel my feet!
Happy pregnancy!!
