Operation Get Ready For Twins: Phase 2

I've been on the hunt for a dresser for the boys and we finally found one at DI. Tim sanded it down for me and then I painted it and got some new knobs. $75 total and it looks like brand new!

I always feel like once I have a dresser ready, the room just comes together. My mom will be up in about 2 weeks to paint my nursery, I've got the pattern for my crib(s) bumper pads and I'm also planning on making a valance. The goal is still to have just about everything ready by the time I'm 30 weeks, so that gives me about a month. Oh, and the green actually goes with the wall quilt that I have--a little exotic, but I like it. I'll post nursery pictures after my mom paints.

I really like the dresser! Can't wait to see how the nursery turns out! I love reading about all your little updates and your multiples class. It's interesting to me to see what the parents perspective of things are since I'm on the other side of things at work.

I love the color. Bright and cheery! You always do a great job on your projects! I can't wait to see the rest!

Your projects are always so cute! Do you use spray paint or regular paint? And I LOVE the green!

Bekah: Yes, I'd love to hear how things are from your perspective, too. Do you get a lot of multiples at your hospital?

Tammy: Thanks!

Lisa: Yep, I wanted a brighter color that was less "babyish" and that would grow with the boys a bit.

Becki: Regular paint. I've never had much luck with spray paint. I found the color at Home Depot, but Walmart matches (the color codes are on the paint chip anyway) and I usually get the Kilz kind because it is better quality. Thanks! For my house, I found all my colors in the Pottery Barn catalog (Benjamin Moore) but Walmart matched them all for so much cheaper.

I love all your updates! Nesting is so fun. Thanks Katie, if you're ever down after you have the twins, how I would LOVE taking pictures of them! (in the beginnings of my photog business and would love to add them to my portfolio and give to you to put in their cute new nursery) :)
Just a little thought for the future. They'll be here so soon! Yay!

I love that you moved away from the traditional boring blue. I can't wait to see what your mom does. Maybe a big mural of your face on the wall to lull them to sleep.

Looks great Katie! You are one talented lady. I can't believe you are having twins! I want to see pictures of you...can you still sleep at night?

it reminds me of my dresser except mine is blue and doesn't have all the little drawers at the top. Very cute.

Very nice! I love shopping at D.I. You just never know what treasures you are going to find. Peter basically has a million books because I go there about once a week to dig through their shelves. I've also found a few other things along the way. :) P.S. I like the bright green. It's very cheerful. You both did a great job refinishing the dresser!

I'll date myself. I don't so much like the green. But I am open minded and will still paint the walls. We'll put up the stuff and I'll then exclaim "I love the dresser. Everything goes perfectly together. You should have gone into interior design rather than English."

Mom: You can ask my friend, I already predicted that you wouldn't like the green. Ha ha. I have a million different blue paint chips and I am going to wait for you to come up and help me pick the perfect winning shade--I just can't decide.

We're excited to see you.

We wished you lived closer, too! It would be so fun to get to see each other more often. I love the dresser. I'm going to do the girl's room in purple and green.
