One of my favorite things about Tim's new job is that he gets to come home for lunch. His office is like two minutes away and I just didn't see the point in him staying there to eat when he could just as easily come home and enjoy the chaos that is lunch with Owen, Eli, Baby Zachy and myself (and this week Marcus is added to the bunch, too!) I'm not sure Tim was super thrilled with the idea as work is probably a bit of a refuge for him :) but he's seen the light (and also doesn't have access anymore to all that convenient snack food like his old job) and now coming home for lunch is sort of a thing that is part of our new routine. Having Tim home for lunch is something I've never experienced on a
regular basis and I love it. It's the perfect middle-of-my-day thing to
see him for 30 min. We are crap at talking on the phone and never call
each other during the day to just say hi or whatever, so this has been
good for us.
In October I noticed that I was feeling very stressed and anxious and I just couldn't quite put my finger on why. I talked it round and round with Tim and thought about it often but couldn't quite get at what was causing me to feel unhappy.
But now I see.
October was the month where Tim was going in early and staying late at work to help wrap up loose ends and train his replacement before moving to his new job.It was also the month where Tim decided to teach two accounting classes (one for the first time) instead of the usual one class so we could make a little extra money. This meant he was teaching every weeknight and grading papers on the weekends.
Well this month he took a break from teaching so there are no night classes which means free evenings for the first time in a year and his new job's hours are 8:30 to 6:00 so he's home in the morning with us and home for lunch, too. It's wonderful and I feel more peaceful and happy because I have more help with the boys, more adult conversation, and most importantly we have more time to watch funny shows on Hulu together :)

I'm so glad that he's able to come home for lunch! I love being able to do that as well, and it saves on the lunch bills! Next time we come to visit, we have to go look at some cars.... Not really, but it sounds fun! Have a great T-Day, and love to all... Dad
