Easter egg hunt in their underwear
Owen and Eli are officially potty trained!! They are even staying dry during their naps which brings me great joy and happiness. I am so glad that I only have one little bum to change (and it is such a cute bum). Here are future tips for future me when I train Zach. Tip 1: Don't bother training a boy until he is at least 3-years-old. Tip 2: Do it during warm (ish) weather and let him pee outside. Tip 3: LOTS of yummy drinks to keep him peeing. Tip 4: Stay home for a week. Really, don't go anywhere. Tip 5: LOTS of good rewards for success. Tip 6: Know that it will be really frustrating at times, but just keep chugging along because it will be WORTH IT!

In our family, once a kid is potty trained and we aren't buying diapers, we start saving for college! Last week, Tim set up a college fund for the two boys and now we funnel that diaper money over and it becomes college money. A neighbor boy has recently started mowing lawns to save for his mission, so now I've begun thinking about mission money as well. Hmmmm.

I am still trying to find my new normal. I was talking to some friends and one mentioned how having her third child was the hardest adjustment for her (she just had number 4) and I said, "Gee, I think this one has been the hardest adjustment for me," and she said, "Well, yes, if you think about it, this is your third new family member to the home transition. ie the twins count as one entry." And I think in a way she is right because the twins did bring their own difficulties but they were the same age and it was more repetition of one act (nursing, changing diapers, etc). Now I have 4 different ages to juggle and life just seems busier. I looked at my yard the other day and was a little bummed about how so much of what I want to do doesn't seem to happen and then I had the thought, "Well, it's hard to grow flowers and veggies when I'm growing little children." I know there are lots of stages to raising kids and I totally realize that this is a wonderful and happy time. It's just also a very demanding time.

My sister and my sister-in-law are both having baby boys!!! My other sister-in-law finds out what she is having tomorrow and I am so excited to hear. Will it be another boy? Or will it finally be the first Richey granddaughter for Bryon and Ann?!!

Last weekend, we got to meet up with my mom and brother, Gary, in Twin Falls. My brother is doing so well and it always makes my heart really happy to see him. We visited Shoshone Falls and had a nice picnic lunch and then hiked around. We could not have asked for better weather. It was just a really good and happy day. Then I got to come home and attend the baptism of one of my young women. Just an overall good day (if I minus out the last 20 minutes of the drive home where all 4 boys were having meltdowns for various reasons).

Marcus is almost done with first grade! How is this even possible? He's grown as a reader this past year and I am so proud of him. We are looking forward to the summer, though, and daily lunches at the park with friends we haven't been able to see as much during the school year. Plus, swimming lessons! And a family vacation to McCall! And lovely sunshiney weather!

Our very first Bountiful Basket Yummy!
I could tell right away that the baby weight wasn't going to come off as easily this time, so a month ago I joined Weight Watchers online. I hit my first goal today of losing 10 lbs! My next goal is to lose another 10. Tim started about a week or two after me and he's closing in on his first goal as well. It really helps to be doing it together and it feels good to be eating healthier and more consciously. I'm still too tired for a strenuous exercise program, but we try to go for a nice walk when the weather is good. Last night, as we were driving home from a party and Tim was bemoaning the fact that he'd only eaten one hamburger when he could have easily eaten five. He said, "This is why I hate diets," to which I replied, "It isn't a diet, it's a lifestyle change." To which he replied, "This is why I hate lifestyle changes!" Sure, it's hard (I'm not going to lie) but man, I really want to look good in my jeans :) and in a really shallow and totally superficial way, I want people to look at me and think "She's had 4 kids? No way!" HA
