It seems that I will always have one child who does not want to be in the picture. Once upon a time it was Marcus and now it is Eli. The ties are still a bit of a novelty, so Marcus can't stop playing with his and Owen is wondering why Zach is screaming. Oh well.
We blessed baby Zach last Sunday and made quite the weekend out of it. My dad and Rhonda drove up on Friday so they could have some quiet time with us before the masses arrived and we had a really nice visit. We took them to eat the famous ice cream potato (if you have to ask then you need to come visit us), and we played at the park. The boys were in heaven over Grandpa's jeep (especially Owen). Grandpa promised he'd bring his motorcycle next time :)
On Saturday morning we headed out to Nampa where all of Tim's family was staying, and we celebrated my nephew, Tyler's, big 5th birthday. The party was lego themed complete with lego games, party favors, and food. The kids had fun playing with Tyler's new toys (though I'm not sure Tyler liked their style of playing which includes elbowing each other out of the way to get a better spot . . .) and I had a really nice time catching up with everyone. Alecia is expecting a baby in October, Kimberlie has super cute bangs, KayLyn has a boyfriend, Taylor has a new job that he is really enjoying, and Romeo is volunteering as a translator for General Conference.
After we finished partying with the Richey's, we headed back to our house to party with Kevin and Nicole who were there and waiting for us. Nicole is expecting a baby boy in July and is at that really cute stage of pregnancy. Next came my mom and Gary, shortly followed by Emma and Justin. Emma is expecting a baby in September and is at that I-can't-even-tell-you-are-pregnant stage of pregnancy. Being with my family was WONDERFUL!! You know what else was wonderful? They all stayed at a nearby hotel for the night. That is the way to go when you have lots of family in town. Everyone visits and has a great time and then goes to a nice quiet room to get a good night's rest in a real bed. Awesome.
Lately, blogger is being weird with how it posts my pictures. Even at this slightly odd angle baby Zach still looks cute :)
Tim gave Zach a beautiful blessing and my sweet baby looked adorable in his little white snow baby outfit. I used one of Owen and Eli's blessing outfits complete with adorable hat and it was nice to know that I had a back up outfit if there was a blowout or spit up incident (thank you, twins). Zach didn't make a peep during the blessing or when he was being passed up and down the pew from one loving and adoring relative to another during the meeting. What a good baby :)There was much feasting following the meeting and then we said farewell to everyone except my mom who stayed an extra two days so we could have some Grandma time. Happy birthday, today, Mom!
I love my family. I love my baby. I love when Owen and Eli and Marcus wear ties. And I love listening to my husband use his Priesthood power to bless our sweet baby boy.
What a great weekend.
