Yet another "new" favorite picture

picture taken by Kim Hodges from KAH Photography. She was our photographer at the Monster Mash. Thanks, Kim!

I really love this time of year, I think that fall is my favorite season. I just love the colors, the cooler weather, the baking smells, the holidays that come right on the heels of one another, and the fact that I can wear my cute boots to church again ;)

We are loving the idea of Halloween around here. We had our school's annual Monster Mash on Friday night. The PTO headed it up and that meant life was a little stressful and crazy as we got everything all organized. The work really paid off this year, though, we introduced three carnival booths and a photographer's area and made almost double what we earned last year! In the middle of all the stress and worry about whether things would work or we'd get enough volunteers, I said to Tim,"Why do I do this to myself? Why do I get involved like this?" He said something along the lines of, "That's your personality, you like to be a part of things, and it will all work out and maybe I should record this so we can play it the next time you get stressed over some big event." Ha ha. He was right, though. In the end, I really enjoyed the night and was so happy with the success. It's great to work with such amazing people who really care about helping our little school be the best it can be.

Have I told you about Tim's new "extra" job? He's teaching an online accounting class and it's a lot of work! The class only goes for 5 weeks so he has to cover a lot of material very quickly and that translates into a lot of grading! Think around 30 0r so 3 page papers a week. I've been helping with the grading because the students have to use APA and I'm familiar with it. I also check grammar. Tim grades for the content. We're hoping that it won't feel like so much work in the next session because he'll have the lessons all prepared and power points all created. Here's hoping! It's a great opportunity for us to reach some of our financial goals a little more quickly, so we really want to make it work.

Last thing, a cute story. We play a little game at our house where I'll say to Owen or Eli, "Who do you love?" And they'll say, "Marcus!" and then I'll ask, "Who else?" and they'll say another family member and so on until we've gone through everyone including Lucy, the cat. Well, a few days ago, Eli and I were playing this game when he surprised me. I asked, "Who do you love?" and he said, "The baby in mommy's belly." Pretty sweet. I'm almost 25 weeks along and we are getting excited for this little fellow to join our family! It's fun to see my boys getting excited, too.

I love the pic too. If Owen and Marcus were born together I wouldn't be able to tell them apart.
