Our specialty

Apparently we have a specialty at our house: boys. About a week or so ago, I went in for my big 20 week ultrasound and we were excited to see what gender this new little person was going to be. Dr. C dimmed the lights, turned on the monitor and put the wand on my belly. I reached for Tim's hand and watched excitedly as the first image of my baby appeared on the screen. "I think your basketball team just got bigger," I said to Tim. Right away, I saw that it was a boy. Dr. C (trying to delay the inevitable) said something along the lines of, "Well now, we don't know for sure yet, that may be the chord, let's look around a bit." But I just laughed and thought to myself that I'd seen enough boy parts on my babies' ultrasounds to know that I was having another one.

Yep, we're having a BOY!!!

I'm not going to lie, I was sort of hoping for a girl. I had imagined what a girl nursery would look like and how fun it would be if she had red hair that was curly like Eli's. We even had a name picked out. But something happens when you see the little baby on the screen and feel the little kicks and wiggles and in almost an instant, it all just feels right and good. We are excited for this little man to join our family and our wrestling matches. We are ready for him to dig in our dirt box, pee in the bathtub, squash food into the carpet, and smear sticky fingers on the television screen. We are looking forward to more trucks accumulating throughout the house and more random sticks being turned into guns and swords.

I think baby boy #4 will fit in perfectly around here.
