Emma's Bridal Shower
I just got back from a quick trip down to Utah for my sister's bridal shower. She's getting married on September 27 after a nine month engagement--7 of those months being spent apart from her fiancee who is playing baseball in Florida. Needless to say, she is REALLY excited for her wedding and her groom to arrive. My sis-in-law, Nicole, gave the shower and made the most delicious food. It was a great time. I got to see some cousins I never get to see and hold some babies I'd never held before. I love how happy events bring us all together--I guess sad events do, too, but I'm glad this was a happy one.
Today my Grandma Durrant went in for open heart surgery to replace a valve in her heart. She's in surgery right now and my thoughts and prayers are with her and my grandpa. Some of the neighbors saw the bridal shower going on and thought it was some kind of great big party for my grandma before her big surgery and while it wasn't really that, I'm still very glad that we did get to have a party that allowed her to spend some wonderful time with several of her daughters, daughters-in-law, and granddaughters. Girl parties are the best.

It was fun seeing you all there at Emma's shower. I'm glad we (finally) found the house! :) It will be fun to see everyone at Gpa's party as well this weekend!
It was great seeing you, too. My mom was pretty excited that you came because I don't think she's seen you in quite awhile. And yes, I'm looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend, too. I'm not looking forward to the drive, though. Bleh.
Wonderful memories. We will pray for Grandma Durrant as well.
Congrats to Emma--can't wait for the wedding pics!
