Friday, June 17, was sunny and hot. Sunday, June 19, was a little breezy but still quite sunny. Saturday, June 18, was RAINY. I take special notice of this weather pattern because Saturday was Marcus's 6th birthday and we had his very first friend birthday party. What kind of party was it? A water party! Complete with swimming pool, water balloons, slip 'n slide, water guns . . . and RAIN.
Luckily, the kids still had a really wonderful time--we spent the first 45 min or so sticking to plan A, but then the kids started shivering and their lips started turning blue and we thought we better bring them inside. We opened presents, did the cake, and then put them all in the living room to play with all of the new toys. I couldn't quite let our Ocean themed water party die though, so I also turned on Finding Nemo.
Marcus had a really wonderful time with all of his friends and the weather didn't bother him a bit. I can't believe he's six-years-old. He is getting so tall and is such a thinker. He is a great blessing to our family and we're happy to have him. Happy birthday, Marcus!!

Seriously. That happened to me on my last child birthday. All outdoors. Then it turned into sweater weather in the middle of JULY!
Clever cupcakes….i'm planning a rainbow themed similar idea this year.
What a fun theme! Sorry the weather didn't cooperate! Your cake and cupcakes are stink'in cute! Happy Birthday Marcus!
