Ramblings

I hope you all had a wonderful New Year. We had a nice one and went to bed before midnight (boring, I know, but some years we just don't feel like partying--we'd rather snuggle with each other in a warm and quiet house.) I still made resolutions, but I only made 4 of them and I'm not going to say them here (don't worry I did tell Tim so that I still have someone else who can help me be accountable) but I will tell you this:
One has to do with my physical health
One has to do with my mental health
One has to do with my spiritual health
One has to do with our family
Marcus heard us talking about resolutions, so we explained what it meant and then asked if he had any New Year Resolutions. He thought about it for a minute and then said, "To go to Chuck E. Cheese." Really, is anyone surprised by this response?

Christmas was extra wonderful this year because we had visitors! Kevin, Nicole, and my mom were here for the big day and we were so happy to spend time with them. I didn't take as many Christmas pics as I usually do because I was too busy chatting, laughing, eating etc. I did take this one of all the stockings on Christmas Eve and it makes me happy because it shows in one little picture how full our house was, but how happy we were to have it so full :)

My favorite Christmas present was from Tim. He is the best with surprises and he really outdid himself this year. We'd opened all of our gifts and were just enjoying the morning chaos when I saw Tim whisper something to Marcus. Marcus got up and left and when he came back he was holding a golden Jared's bag!! I started crying and laughing and smiling all at once. Inside was a beautiful bracelet. Beautiful. I wear it all the time now and it makes me really happy. I know those commercials are so cheesy but after that morning I realized that is exactly how it all goes down when the Jareds bag shows up!

Life is settling back down into our normal routine. Marcus is back in school and story time is up and running again. We have 9:00 church now which I love (once upon a time I hated it). It is the best time for families with children who still nap. I cut my hair and I like it and I think I'm going to take Eli to get his hair trimmed this week. I know! I can't believe we're going to actually cut his hair but I feel like it's time--it's always getting in his eyes now. He's two. It's a new year. I've really been thinking about it ever since I saw my cousin's little boy who has hair exactly like Eli's only it is trimmed up so cute and the curl is still there and adorable.

Okay, I'm rambling now. Time to sign off.
