A few weekends ago I dragged my sister-in-law and my boys out of bed at the crack of dawn (Tim was gone on Guy Weekend) to go see the balloon launch at the park. We used to do this as a family in Provo on the 4th of July, and I have good memories of seeing those balloons launch with my family. I want to make this an annual thing with my own children. We're also preparing to go see my mom (Old Grandma) in New Mexico in a few weeks, and we're timing our visit with the giant Balloon festival held there each year. This little taste got us even more excited for that upcoming treat.

Marcus was super excited that the rocket balloon took off right above us.

It's really unfair that KayLyn looks this good this early in the morning with no makeup. Also, she just spent the night sleeping on a couch. Unfair.

We consumed Winco donuts while enjoying the balloon show. This is also going to be part of the tradition and we'd like Old Grandma to take note that donuts are really really good at balloon launches. Really good. You know, for future reference or whatever :)

See? Good, really good.

Someone called him a girl again the other day. Isn't he just the prettiest boy with all that blond hair?

Sounds like such a fun time! Those balloons are amazing---like I'm sure the donuts were too!
lol i love it. i remember going down to see the balloons when we were younger. That's a good tradition to start :)
Please don't cut Eli's hair before I see him. Donuts will be provided breakfast, lunch, and dinner if the boys and I have anything to do with it!
Great pictures and treats! Eli may have curly hair but there is no "girl" look to his face...he is total boy.
