The numbers are in . . .

Well, I finally got around to taking the boys in for their 18 month wellness visit at 19 months. No biggie, right? I am a much different mother to these two than I was to Marcus--his visits were never late and his milestones were carefully noted :) Despite my shabbiness in the mothering department (ha!) the boys are thriving and doing so well. We made a Richey family visit today-- meaning that every member of our family was there to show moral support for the two little ones during their time of need (shots and various other proddings) and helpful support to me because it is IMPOSSIBLE to take two babies to the dr by yourself and still be expected to fill out paperwork. Thanks, Tim and Marcus! Here are the stats:

Owen: Weighs 27.6 lbs (bearing in mind that the kid is wiggly and this time he stood on the big scale (can you believe they are done with the baby scale? sniff sniff)--so maybe he weighs 27 lbs and maybe he weighs 28 lbs. On some days, he feels like he weighs 50. Anyway, he is in the 68th percentile for weight.
He's 34 inches tall which puts him in the 85th percentile. He is a mini Marcus.

Eli: Weighs 25 lbs (again, keep in mind the wiggling) and this puts him in the 33rd percentile.
He's 32 inches tall which puts him in the 31st percentile. Remember when he was in the 4th percentile? Yipppeee for Eli!

Both boys are only saying two words: Mama and Dada. Of course they make other sounds and communicate with us and understand us just fine, but the dr said he wanted more words soon, but he won't worry about it until they are two and still only saying 2 words. He says this is more common with twins who communicate with each other just fine and see no reason for words. Twin-speak, is what he called it. I'm not worried.

Anyone who's been around Owen for longer than 5 minutes is familiar with his drooling and his stalker breathing. The kid is constantly congested. I talked to the dr about this and he is pretty sure it is his adenoids. (I knew it!) He prescribed a nasal spray that is supposed to help shrink them and prevent surgery, but we'll go see a specialist in a month or so to see if the spray has worked and what else may need to happen to get our boy breathing better through his nose.

So there you go, a successful visit to the dr.

Stalker breathing? I love it. Maren is only 23 lbs...I can't believe your boys are so big! You need to come over sometime and see new little Kristen. :) She's only 6 lbs!

Katie, you are a wonderful mother to your boys. They are growing up so fast and they are sooo cute! Good luck with the nose spray, Owen. Hope it works.

So can you tell those boys to stop growing??? I am not ready for them to be approaching 2! But they are dang cute boys, so as long as they continue the cuteness, and hopefully minus the drooling and stalker breathing from Owen, I will try not to be mad that they are growing up so quickly. Also, let them know that Auntie Alecia would be an appropriate third word to start saying. Well I guess third and fourth words. :)

Just peeking in again! Wow, don't they grow up so fast? I think with twins, everything gets a little pushed back... mine went for their 18 month checks at 20 months ;0
