The brothers

I am loving these little boys right now--they are at such a fun age! Oh my, they are so busy, though!

Eli just blossomed when he started walking a couple of months ago. He took his sweet time and waited until he was 17 months old, but he's quickly caught up to brother Owen who has been walking since February (14 months). These two have now advanced to climbing on everything. Their current love is pushing the kitchen chairs out around the table and then climbing on top. They also love to stand on the fireplace and pretend it is their stage and I have caught them trying to climb onto the piano, too. On some days (before the climbing has started) they will sit together on the piano bench and play a lovely duet. There are no solos in this house :)

I think Owen found him on Aisle 5--ha! Eli actually likes this position (remember the wagon picture?) And Owen loves pushing him around. We borrowed this little grocery cart from a friend who noticed how much the boys loved it last time they were at her house. They've had so much fun with it.

We always tell Eli that curls get the girls and this proves it! Our little neighbor friend loves Eli and he loves her. Aren't they precious? I think another reason she may love Eli so much is because he is a little more light weight than Owen. The other day Marcus tried to lift Owen into a stroller and when he just couldn't he said, "Man, you are a big guy!" Yep, Owen the linebacker.

There is really something so special about the relationship these two have with one another. They play together and they make each other laugh. They bicker and argue over toys. They tease each other. They love each other. When I look at the two of them and we sing or when I tickle them or when we watch Marcus doing something fun and they both are snuggling in my lap, I just feel so warm and happy inside. They are such a blessing and I love the joy that they bring into our home.

The other day, after we had finished watching a few friends and their little baby, Marcus asked me why we got to have two babies. I told him it was because Heavenly Father knew we needed to have two brothers come to our family. I asked him, "Would you miss Eli if we didn't have him?" "Yes," he answered. "And what about Owen? Would you miss him?" "Yes," He said again. "See," I said, "We needed them both--it wouldn't be right if we had one and not the other." It wouldn't be right at all.

Those great looking pictures were actually taken by a photographer when we did the family pics. I can't claim them as my own :)
