Lava Hot Springs

We're back from a lovely vacation to Lava Hot Springs with my family. Here are some pics of our many adventures. It should be noted that my definition of "adventures" includes but is not limited to: eating, sleeping, watching Shark Week, playing games, talking, eating some more, swimming, laughing, holding babies, floating down the river on a tube, flipping tube in rapids, losing glasses when tube flips, receiving multiple bruises and scrapes because of nasty rocks in said river, jumping off of the high dive (Tim) and slapping hard enough to make some random teenager say, "That was awesome. Props to you for getting out." Oh, and did I mention eating?

Can you believe that I am the shortest in my family? I know, crazy.

This picture was taken while I was frantically searching for the glasses that had already been swept a mile or so downstream, and while Emma was frantically trying to retrieve our tube which felt like it had been swept a mile or so downstream. At least Owen and Uncle Kevin were having a good time :)
Blah, the picture won't rotate--you'll just have to turn your head a bit . . . This is where we gave Miss Emery her first baby cookie which she LOVED. This little miss left my boys in the dust, she crawls like a champ, pulls herself up to standing, and can cruise along furniture. Did I hear someone say early walker?

Aunt Nicole and Grandma with the sweet boys.

This is the pen or the cage or whatever you want to call it. It contains the little ones now that they are all mobile. Marcus enjoyed showing off by climbing in and out of it repeatedly.

Aunt Kelly, Uncle Gary, and Emery.

Auntie Em and Owen.

Grandma and her grandchildren.

I took this picture just before we left. We had such a wonderful time and I realized later how special this time truly was when my mom called me a day or so after and told me that she'd just been offered a job. She's moving to Albuquerque, New Mexico the end of this month. I'm so happy for her, but it will be strange to not have her in Utah anymore--I bet it'll be even stranger for my siblings who all live in Utah to not have her around. Looks like we'll need to do these little vacations every few years or so . . . hint hint.

Kelly told me what a great time she had with all of you. I know that she appreciates all the nice things that Katherine does for your family. It looks like so much fun, and baby Emery is darling (I haven't ever seen pictures of her). You definitely need to make that a tradition!
