We spent a day of our Utah vacation in Ephraim where my grandpa lives. It was a little chilly, but we decided to brave the elements and go fishing because Marcus had never been, my dad really wanted to teach him, and there is a lovely lake just up the canyon from my grandpa's house. I'm so glad we went because it was absolutely beautiful up there and it was so fun to watch Marcus fish with his two grandpas. It was a happy day.
Grandpa, teaching Marcus how to fish. Here's how it worked: my dad would put some "magic bait" on his line and throw it out. Ten seconds later a fish would bite and my dad would shout, "Marcus, I caught one!" and Marcus would run over and reel it in. It was so funny. Also, thanks to my Aunt Melanie for lending us the sweatshirt :)
My grandpa was patient, but he didn't have any "magic bait." Somehow, though, he did manage to catch a fish by the tail. How does that happen?
Like I mentioned before, it got a bit chilly, so we created a little shelter of sorts to keep the babies out of the wind.
This was the one and only fish that Marcus touched. I think it was a little too slimy for him.
