When my cousin, Naomi's boy, Jacob, was just a little guy he used to call her "Nomi" (Naomi) instead of mom because that is what he always heard her called. He would say it in the cutest little voice and we all thought that it was absolutely precious. Well, Marcus has started calling his dad Tim, but only during selective moments.
Example 1: Marcus and Tim were playing basketball in the living room yesterday. This is an activity that they both know is not really a favorite of mine because we have a lot of pictures and other breakable items in the living room. Anyway, I was on the couch (probably feeding a baby) and they were throwing the little toy basketball around and Tim threw it to Marcus where it bounced out of his hands and knocked one of my pictures off the table. I think I let out a frustrated sigh and Marcus said, "Oh, Tim!" in the exact same tone he probably hears me say it when my patience is wearing thin.
Example 2: Yesterday, when we were all outside enjoying the FABULOUS weather I was on the side of the house and wanted Tim to come see something so I started shouting, "Tim! Tim!" and Marcus walked over to me and very matter-of-factly said, "Tim is over by the mailbox." Oh, okay. Thanks, Marcus.

That's my grandson for you, and may I add, that's my son for you...he hasn't changed very much over the years I can tell...
