My baby boy is three

Today is Marcus's 3rd birthday. We aren't celebrating too much today beyond a special crepe breakfast because we're going to have his little party on Saturday (look forward to pics of an awesome dinosaur cake!) We also went to the free movie at the theater today and had lunch at the park and now he is watching his train movie, so I think it's still been a pretty good day for Marcus.

Here are three little memories to commemorate Marcus's special day:

Memory 1: When we were in the hospital, Marcus had a little cart that they would use to move him around. During the night I had them keep him in the nursery unless he needed to be fed and then they would bring him to me. His little cart had a squeaky front wheel and I can remember waking up to the sound of that wheel as they wheeled him down the hall to me. It was like a little announcement that said, "Here I come, mom!"

Memory 2: At first Marcus really didn't like nursery. The ladies would try and force him to sit down around the table for snack or the lesson. Tim and I would get frustrated with this because we thought the ladies should just let him play for the first few months until he got used to being there. I remember also considering buying a little table and chairs so that we could practice being reverent. It never came to that though, and now he really loves nursery and sits when he is supposed to (most of the time).

Memory 3: Each week we go to story time at the library. We're basically regulars and the story lady, Miss Tammy, knows Marcus by name. One time we were there and Miss Tammy was telling a funny story using her flannel board. I think the story was about a whale that spit up five fish. Marcus thought it was hysterical and laughed and laughed. At one point he shouted, "That's silly, Miss Tammy!" It was pretty cute.

We sure do love you, Marcus J. You make our lives so wonderful and we just love seeing things through your big blue eyes. Have a very happy birthday!!!
