30th Wedding Anniversary

My in-laws, Bryon and Ann, celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary this past weekend. Tim and I started discussing about a month ago how to celebrate this big event. Tim thought we should send them on a cruise or some other big vacation, but I suggested that that might be a better idea for their 40th or 50th (when we're all a little richer) and then I suggested we do something like what we did for my Grandma and Grandpa Durrant's 50th--a surprise party!!

I called the siblings and they all agreed to secretly come to Idaho that weekend. Meanwhile, they all gathered old photographs and I made a slideshow of all the pictures using Photoshop. It turned out great. Tim and I told his parents we wanted to take them to lunch on Saturday and we decided on the Cheesecake Factory (yummy). All the kids came into town that morning (some from Utah) and they went over to the restaurant to surprise their parents. Bryon and Ann came over to our house and we drove over together and when we walked in I said, "I think our table's ready" and then I pointed across the room. Ann immediately started crying and saying stuff in this really high pitched voice (I think she was happy) and even Bryon got a little misty :) It was such a great surprise. Later, after lunch we watched the movie I'd made and that was a big hit too. We had a great weekend together as a family. Bryon and Ann are such great people and they deserve to be celebrated. Happy Anniversary!!

Alecia bought the boys matching shirts. Have you ever seen cuter cousins? Also, we definitely won't lose these two in a crowd :)
