The show opened with this great lady from Africa. She had a beautiful voice and the music really got the energy going. Her dancing was fun to watch too. She was followed by a brief intermission and then the show really got started. The curtain was down when he started singing and then it came up and you could see the band playing but still no Josh, only his glorious voice and then he came up in the middle of the stage on one of those cool elevator things that comes from under the stage (okay, maybe a bad explanation but it was cool--just take my word for it.) And folks, it only got better from there. He has such a beautiful effortless sounding voice and it was as though angels had descended and were singing in our midst. The show was made even cooler by the fact that he was surrounded by yet more talent in the personified as the violinist, cellist, and guitarist. All were amazing musicians who enjoyed solos to showcase their incredible abilities. It was one of those concerts where your mouth is sort of hanging open the whole time because you are just in awe of what you are hearing and seeing.
And then. THEN. When we thought it just couldn't get any better he came out into the audience and walked down the aisle singing to us. And I suppose you can guess what aisle he decided to stroll down and who was able to reach out and touch his arm? My mother-in-law. Ann Richey. Let me tell you folks, it made her night. Heck, it made ours too.

It was so so good. I tried to touch him but some lady get in my way. I was sad that I didn't get to touch him. Everyone sound so good. It was fun having a girls night out.
My co-worker just got so very jealous, she almost passed out reading about your experience with Josh. She thinks she will be able to steal him away from me and marry him!! hahahahaha whatever. I can only hope my visit to his concert will yeild similar results. Like mother like daughter right!?!
I love the picture! It sounds like you had a blast. Ann is a lucky person. Did you get any photo of him singing?
Like I said on the entry below, it was an awesome night. There were 3 empty seats right next to me. I called Kimberlie before the performance started and told them to come up. She said no because they would probably be coming. They never did. Right before Josh went thru the audience, 2 girls came up from behind so they could be there for Josh! NEXT TIME LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER!!!! But we did all have a wonderful time! THANK YOU KIMBERLIE!!!!!!!!!
So fun!!! I'm glad you were able to have a wonderful girls' night out! How lucky for Aunt Ann!!!! I'm jealous! :0)
It sounds like you had a night to remember. You should have listened to your wise mother in law.
From a fellow Grobanite who is going to his concert on Tuesday, that sounds so dreamy! What songs did he sing? I really loved his second CD, I hope he sings songs from that one. Aaaah Josh!
That sounds like so much fun! Girl's nights out rule. I haven't listened much to J.G. but it looks like I may have to look into it. So glad you had such a fun time. You deserve it! :)
Sounds like an awesome night! I'm glad you got a girls night out. I would love that!
I'm glad you were able to enjoy such a truly gifted person such as Josh... I bet it was amazing! Thanks for sharing the experience with us!
Nice! I went a Josh Groban concert a couple of summers ago, and he sings just as well in person as he does on the CD (which is sometimes NOT the case with other artists...).
On another subject, I just finished Eclipse last night, and I read it in a little over one day. Yes, I pretty much ignored my kids in order to read it. :) I was a little disappointed in myself for reading it so quickly, but I just got so hooked! In a nutshell, my thoughts on it are that the action parts are a little cheesy, but man I just eat up all dialogue and the romance! When I started the series (at the recommendation of others) I did not think I would really get into a teenage vampire romance novel, but I loved it! I can't wait for the next one.
