The ranch had this tractor sitting out for decoration and rustic appeal I guess. Anyway, when Marcus saw it it was love at first sight. He wanted to sit on the seat and move the steering wheel and make tractor noises. Definitely a highlight of the trip for him.

Marcus loves his baby cousin, Tyler, and has taken a real liking to holding him. I snapped a bunch of pictures of them together on the tractor and this is one that I like the best. Tyler looks a little concerned (he has the most expressive eyebrows I've ever seen) and Marcus is happy to be grown up enough to hold him. My favorite part of the picture though is Marcus's hands. He's got a good hold of his favorite cousin.

Notice the tractor noise face.

I am in love with my nephew.

On the way home everyone humored me by stopping at the Hemingway Memorial in Ketchum. It was really beautiful and a nice vacation stop for a retired English major.

OK you are so ME!!! When we were in England I HAD to go to Stratford, and of course pose next to Shakespeare's statue and house (as well as Lady Macbeth). I'm not a big Hemingway fan, but I still would have stopped and posed for a picture with you.
Someday I would love to go back east and tour Massachusetts. Besides going to the usual historical sites, I would love to visit the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery where Alcott, Hawthorne, Thoreau and Emerson are buried. It would also be a lot of fun to tour Louisa May Alcott's home in Concord.
Someday my friend, someday!
I've been to Sleep Hollow Cemetery and have pictures next to all those graves!! I went on a study tour when I was at Ricks. It was one month of American history, church history, and American literature. We saw it all and it was amazing!!
Actually, I didn't see Alcott's home, but we did have a lecture in Emily Dickinson's garden!
I'm not a huge Hemingway fan either, but I couldn't pass up being so near a literary great. Let me know when you're scheduling your big trip and I will rearrange my schedule. I bet we'd have a ton of fun!
I love both my grandsons and they are really good together. And, yes Marcus was in 7th heaven with that tractor. I talked w/a lady at work whose husband drives all the big construction machinery...I told her about Marcus, how he loves anything big and mechanical. She laughed.
