Last week I went to Nampa to spend the afternoon and evening with my in-laws and Jami and Paige. Ann was having a rough day (car problems) so Jami and I decided to get dinner ready before she got home. I went ahead and started looking through Ann's giant black cookbook and my mouth immediately began to water both because I was starving and because I found a recipe for Quick Sweet Rolls. Yummy. Well, we had dinner and then Jami and I toyed with the idea of making said sweet rolls but time was short and we were all tired, so we didn't.
Then this past weekend KayLyn was up from Utah, so they all came over for lunch and Ann brought the recipe, so now it was in my possession. On Sunday we just couldn't resist anymore, but I had some stuff to do, so Tim decided to make the delicious sweet rolls. Yes, Tim made them. Yes, they were incredibly delicious.
The funny part is this: after Tim finished making the sweet rolls he had to go to presidency meeting and then to do some visits so the EQ pres and his wife got some rolls. Then he had to go home teaching so his HT comp and his wife got some rolls. Then I had to make a dinner for a family in our ward so they got some rolls. Then Peter and Margaret (cousins and friends) came over for dinner and so they got some rolls. Tim was very proud of himself and each time he gave away one of his sweet rolls he was quick to add, "I made these."
So here is my thought: I think the name Quick Sweet Rolls has a double meaning. Obviously, it means their quick and easy to make, but I also think it means they're quick to disappear :)

I love those things. If I had to give up sugar for the rest of my life I think that would be the one thing I really would be truly sad over.
Amen, sister! I was actually kind of glad that they disappeared so quickly because I'm trying that Special K diet. sigh.
I will definitely do that. Maybe the thought of sweet rolls will bring you to Boise again sooner . . .
