Happy 4th of July!!
It was a really nice holiday. We had a barbecue over at Bryon and Ann's house and some of Tim's cousins and spouses were there. The food was delicious, the weather turned cooler (eventually it rained), and the company was great. What more could you ask for? We didn't see any fireworks again this year--last year Marcus was still pretty new and we were asleep by the time they started doing fireworks, and this year Marcus was asleep again and we aren't allowed to have fireworks in the complex anyway. I hadn't heard of any shows either. So while the barbecue was great, our holiday evening was a bit of a bust. I did listen to NPR's reading of the Declaration of Independence that night though, and I felt very patriotic. Go me.
It's just not the same when you watch fireworks on tv though--you really need the loud sounds and the summer night air. Oh, and I heard your holiday evening was rather exciting :)
Katie, love all the pics! Last year we got to see fireworks because they were visible from the yard. This year was lame, I still haven't posted about it, and I'm sure next year will be fireworks-less also. Oh well...
