Happy Birthday Marcus!!!

Here is a our little one-year-old birthday boy.

I made him a fire truck birthday cake.

"I'm one and I get to eat a piece of cake!!"

What a fun birthday! I am impressed with the cake, Katie. Good job. We put Will in the front facing carseat a month early (even though he didn't pass 20 lbs until this month). He hated the baby carseat and we hated the idea of driving to Ohio for 14 hours with him screaming the whole way because he couldn't see us. It was a very good decision on our part--he was very happy and driving in the car with him continues to be a happy experience now. Hope it works as well for you!

Katie, I am also impressed that you held out for the entire year in the small carseat. Maddie was in hers by the time she was 9 mos old (then again, she was over 20lbs by the time she was 6 mos!) Happy Birthday Marcus! I can't believe it's been a year - he is such a doll. I think this was the point last year when I started getting REALLY impatient.

Adrianne: Thanks for your cake admiration :) It was fun to make. It doesn't quite look like the picture, but it did the job. Marcus is really liking his carseat. It makes it a lot easier for me to reach to him too. We're all very happy about the new situation.

Melissa: I can remember when you and Rob came over to see Marcus just after he was born. You were still sooo pregnant and sooo eager. I remember when we came to see you guys in the hospital when Maddie finally came. Good times. Congratulations again on your wonderful baby news. Here's hoping this one doesn't keep you waiting too long.
Ann: Thanks. He's definitely enjoying all his birthday gifts. Thanks again for breakfast.

Love the cake. What a great idea! I just got a picture from a friend in AK and she made a salmon cake for her daughter's 1st birthday. I feel really lame now. I never even thought to make the cake look cute.

But Jen, I bet your cake was made from scratch. Am I right?
