Marcus Update

I just wanted to give everyone a little Marcus update. On the 18th he turned seven months old. We took him into his pediatrician for a little well-visit and he's healthy and happy . . . and still a string bean! He weighed in at 15 lbs 10 oz and that puts him in the 10th percentile for his age group. He's in the 50th percentile for height. I asked the doctor if his weight was anything I should be concerned about and he assured me that he's fine. I guess Tim and I just always assumed we'd have a chunky monkey baby because we were big kids ourselves. Marcus is also getting his first tooth! It is in the front on the bottom. I haven't noticed that he's been cranky or irritable, in fact he's actually sleeping through the night now!! He still can't sit up for extended periods of time by himself (at least on the floor, he sits just fine on our laps) but he's definitely getting around on the ground. He rolls all over the place and he is doing some kind of caterpillar crawl right now. I guess it's time to start baby proofing the place. As for food, he loves applesauce and apple juice (in small amounts with lots of water of course). He has a sippy cup that he is really loving. I also have started giving him cheerios which he really enjoys. It is so funny to watch him trying to pick up each little cheerio (he still hasn't mastered the pincer grasp). He'll finally get a cheerio in his hand and then he can't figure out how to get it in his mouth. Very funny. Love to all.

So cute, Katie! Don't know if you remember me, but I was friends with Savvymom and Nemesis--I think we were roommates for a short while? Or you were just over a lot? It's all fuzzy now! Anyway, I just had my first baby as well--he's three months old tomorrow and just so fun. There are some old pics on my blog--I really need to update cause he's much bigger now!

Of course I remember you! We were roommates, but it was the summer I was engaged, so I was rarely there. I hear you and Jenny Lynn have become pretty good friends. She told me you were expecting a boy. (Obviously this was a long time ago). Aren't boys great? I'll have to start checking your blog too. I'm always happy to meet fellow bloggers :) Are you still teaching?
