Three Months Today!

Marcus is three months old today, and how do you think we are celebrating? By staying home from church because he has his first cold and not surprisingly, I have a cold too. Overall, he's handling it pretty well, but his little eye is goopy and I'm always sucking out his nose with the aspirator because he's all stuffed up. Poor little guy. It's definitely starting to feel like fall here. The other day when we were on our walk I saw that a few of the trees were starting to change colors. I love this time of year. We miss watching the leaves on the mountains change though, all we have here our bald foothills.
As some of you already know, we were called to head up the activities committee in our ward. The calling went something like this,
Bishop: "We want to extend a calling to you guys."
Us: "Okay."
Bishop: "Will you be in charge of our ward activities committee?"
Us: "Yes."
Bishop: "Great. Oh, by the way, we have an annual barbecue in two weeks. You guys are in charge."
Us: Silence. We are stunned.
Therefore, I am pleased to announce that the barbecue went very well. The bishop said to plan on 80 and we got 95 which is surprising because at the last minute we had to switch the location from the park to the church because of the weather. Everyone was commenting that they'd never had such a good turnout (I'm sure this turnout was directly linked to my fabulous posters. I'm a whiz with construction paper and markers). Also, thanks mom, for the game idea. The human scavenger hunt was a huge success. Life Lesson Learned: never underestimate the power of free food. Even if you switch locations, people WILL find you. We love you all! Keep checking back.

We're finding that Maddie is a lot happier when she sleeps upright (in a swing or bouncer). That way her nose tends to stay a bit more clear, and she doesn't cough as much. Also, try putting a humidifier in his room - if you haven't alreay - it thins out the mucous. Good luck!

Thanks for the cold fighting tips. He seems to be doing better. The green goo is clear now. (Ahh, the conversation topics of mothers-good times).
